Freesat gives you over 200 free digital tv & radio channels, full interactive services, BBC iPlayer, Digital TV planner & digital radio channels.
There are currently TVs available with Freesat built in manufactured by LG, Pansonic and Samsung. HDR freesat is also available with up to 160 hours of recording. No monthly subscription, 98% UK coverage.
What is Freesat?
Freesat was launched as a joint adventure by both the BBC and ITV in 2008, with the purpose of providing improved home entertainment and varied digital television channels to 98% of the UK population. As an alternative to both freeview (in particular poor to weak signal area’s where freeview is currently unobtainable), and Sky Freesat, the Freesat satellite service provides over 200 free digital television and radio channels, free high definition content, free recording/pause and rewind live tv facilities and even on demand content via iPlayer. New digital freesat channels are being added all the time.
All these offerings, coupled with no monthly charges and no contract have made the Freesat service a best seller since it’s launch.
We offer free quotations for all new freesat installations. Our installers carry everything required to carry out a freesat installation at your home, and should you wish, you can have your freesat system fully installed and configured during the same visit.
Using your existing satellite dish
If you already have a satellite dish and cabling, in most cases you can simply plug your Freesat digital box or TV in and enjoy subscription free satellite TV.
If you need a new satellite dish or need extra cables, for example for Freesat's Smart TV Recorder please contact us for help.
Please note that some satellite dishes that have been set up to receive Sky Q feature a different LNB (the part that sticks out from the satellite dish), so if you're switching from Sky Q you may need us change the LNB on your dish back to a standard fitting in order to make it compatible with Freesat.
Freetime (not to be confused with Amazon's Freetime!) is the award-winning TV Guide from Freesat that helps you watch more of the telly you love (and less of the telly you don't). Best of all there's no monthly bill.
Freetime is available on set top boxes, as well as the latest Panasonic TVs and going forwards will be available on a lot more new TVs. You'll need a satellite dish installed (or you can use an existing Sky dish) and the Freetime PVR.
